The Latest Remakes and Reboots

Hollywood is full of new way to make some money, and rebooting a film series or remaking a movie is nothing new. However, sometimes this is justified, because there always is this movie whose story and characters you loved, but the film was done quite badly. But then again, there are some movies that have always been great, but just deserve to be a bit renewed.

You’d be surprised perhaps when you hear what are some of the movies that are going to be remade in the near future, so just sit back and read about all the new/old movies you are set to enjoy, even though you have already enjoyed them some time ago.

magnificent-seven-posterAccording to Box Office Mojo, one of the films that is going to be remade in the near future is The Magnificent Seven! Yes, that Magnificent Seven! It appears that this movie is progressing quite nicely. The director has already been selected, and the movie will be made by Antoine Fuqua of The King Arthur. It will star Chris Pratt, Ethan Hawke, Peter Sarsgaard and Vincent D’Onofrio. The movie is set to be released on January 13, 2017, which is a date that will pop up quite frequently in this article. So, besides watching a movie about a bunch of cowboys that are set up on saving a poor village from a ruthless warlord, we are going to have to leave the entire second and this week of 2017, because there will be a lot more remakes that we would want to see.

The-dark-tower-From-Stephen-King-620x400Another movie whose release date is set at January 13, 2017 is The Dark Tower, a movie based on the series of novels by Stephen King. This will be a movie about Roland, the last of the Gunslingers, a group of people who are descendants of the ancient King Arthur. Roland will have to find the Dark Tower in this Tolkienesque world, a tower that is believed to hold the nexus of the entire universe.

Stephen King himself has said that this book series is a mixture of Tolkien and Sergio Leone, which could make it the best damn movie in the history of cinematography. JJ Abrams first tried to make a movie based on it, but it didn’t work. Then, both Ron Howard and Russel Crowe tried the same with the very same result. Nikolaj Arcel is now in control of it, and hopefully, he will make it work.

power-rangersAnd then, there are the Power Rangers, the favorite TV series of all the young boys who grew up in the 90s. The reboot of this is currently in the works, with Zack Stentz and Ashley Miller writing the script for it. It is claimed that the movie would seek to benefit from the recently released Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, as well as from the feeling of nostalgia of all the young men, who used to be boys that watched this TV series. It will also be released on January 13, 2017.
